which sounds like the one you are talking about. My lawyer in Panama says
the annual letter from Social Security is acceptable. It needs to be
apostilled (certified) by the Panamanian Consulate. Not sure where you would go to have this done if you are already in Panama.

Mayra de Ruzzi has represented dozens, if not hundreds, of the members of Americans in Panama, Viviendo en Panama and Panama Forum in obtaining their pensionado visas. In the three years that I have known her I have not heard one complaint regarding her service, but have received many "thank yous” for referring her. She speaks excellent English and is always on time. Her services, while not the cheapest, are very reasonable and nowhere near the cost of the large law firms, but I would caution anyone about choosing an attorney based solely on cost. Her contact information is:

email: 1crisma@cableonda.net
cell" 6618-5436
office: 226-9523
If you are calling from outside of Panama you will need to first
dial 011 (country code) 507 (area code) and then the number.
If you would like to discuss her with me you may call me

at 6651-1237.

To: Mayra Lamboglia de Ruzzi <1crisma@gmail.com>

Hi Mayra,

Hope everything is well. I was going to post this on your web site, but I guess you have to post it. So if you like you can post this,

We needed an attorney to help us with the closing of our condo in Panama. We had two different attorneys that were not responsive to our e-mails or phone calls.
After intensive search on Internet I found Mayra Lamboglia Ruzzi. I sent her a simple e-mail asking her if she would represent us in closing of our condo in Panama. The rest is an history. She was great, responded to our e-mails right away, she took a charge of everything that had to be done in a professional way.
We flew to Panama and met up with her in her office. She drow us to our bank, to the title company and our builder. She went out of her way to made sure that everything went smoothly.
We are so thankful to her for everything she did for us and would highly recommend her to anyone that buys a property in Panama. She speaks English and Spanish fluently.

Re: Pre-retirement

Basic rule of thumb -- If you are considering coming here and your skills sets are not unique -- i.e. a Panamanian could not reasonably do it -- you are taking employment from someone who needs a job way more than you do.
Contact Mayra de Ruzzi before coming here or when you visit to check out Panama. She is very good at assessing whether or not you should pursue the investor visa and other issues. Search on her name and you will find her contact information.
Regards,
Hunter

Re: [americans_in_panama] pensionado help

Another attorney that is excellent is Mayra Ruzzi. Everyone I have referred to
her has been very happy with her. She also speaks English and is very
reasonable in her costs. In fact, I had breakfast with someone this morning who
I referred to her and she is charging the same rates as he charged me last year.
Her contact information…...

So if you have used an attorney and they did a good job for you, please create a file in the folder named Attorneys. Bill Baio... Sharon from Tennessee... the one you guys used needs to be in there. I forgot her name. Melodye
Her name is Mayra de Ruzzi. She does a real good job at a fair
price. Go to the links page on my web site

Mayra's e-mail address is there.

Re: Beware of Panamanian Attorneys

Sorry to hear about your problems Greg. I was lucky, after being
recommended several attorneys I used Mayra de Ruzzi. I now have my
pensionado and Mayra was great working under frustrations and
delays due to the approaching election she hung in there and gave me
a superb service and for well under $1000. I recommend Mayra to
anyone needing this service in Panama.

Panama: Decided to Move? Here Is What You Need To Know

You need an attorney here in Panama for this effort. I would strongly suggest you get one in Panama City rather than here in Boquete because of the fact that there are many less than scrupulous attorneys here (just like in the States) that will charge you based on the fact that they can get essentially any amount they want to charge you because you are a foreigner rather than what is a reasonable and fair price. Competition is good. You should not pay more than $700 for the first person and $500 for the second if they are done at the same time. So, for a couple more than $1200 is not reasonable.
I will give you the name of an attorney that is well connected and knows this procedure so well that she “can do it with her eyes closed.” She speaks English and is very helpful. Her name is Myra Lamboglia: email her at mayra1378@hotmail.com. If you tell her that Casey Koehler from Boquete sent you she will be receptive. She has had clients that don’t listen to her and don’t do as she says and tell her how silly the requirements are. She doesn’t like that. This is her country and her country’s rules and she knows the laws. Do the things she says, how she says, and when she says, and you’ll have no difficulty. You will have to pay her $600 down on her accepting the job and the balance of the $1200 on completion of your visas (for two).
